Our beautiful, bright and colourful travel English lesson plans have been so well received that we have released a few more.
Just a week after we released the initial five lessons in our Functional Language Category, we’ve received a lot of positive feedback and requests for more lessons.
Our Functional Language lessons contain no explicit grammar and focus on language in context which leads to tasks to promote the target language. These travel English lesson plans can be used individually, though they also follow a logical progression… so we think they’re perfect to look at before your students head on vacation. They are also a fantastic tool to increase energy levels during the inevitable summer slowdown!
Here’s what you’ll find in our latest travel English lesson plans:
FL106 – On-Vacation-At-The Hotel
Who do you speak with when you need something at the hotel? Can someone arrange a taxi for you? Who can fix the air-conditioning in your suite? And what are the opening hours of the pool? In this lesson you can look at helpful language for when your students are guests.
FL107 – On-Vacation-Eating-Out
One of the best memories from vacation are the culinary experiences that you have. Of course, you’ll need helpful language to understand your waiter, and to order what you want. And would you eat that local specialty?
FL108 – On-Vacation-Sightseeing
Most of us, even those of us who prefer to laze by the swimming pool for days on end, will do some sightseeing. So will you go on an organized tour, or take a private guide? Do you prefer to stroll around town on foot or enjoy the experience of a hop-on hop-off bus tour? What’s your thing? Churches and cathedrals, museum and art galleries, or something else?
FL109 – On-Vacation-Shopping-And-Souvenirs
Love it or hate it, souvenir shopping is a staple for most of us on vacation. Maybe you need to buy a trinket for a friend back home, or perhaps you promised that Persian rug to your best friend? Here you can learn how to haggle and get the best price! But remember, some items you cannot bring back into your country!
These lessons promote authentic speech and contain multiple tasks. As a teacher, you’ll also be playing Tour Guide, Vendor of Souvenirs, Reception Desk Manager and Waiter.
We hope that you and your students enjoy our travel English lesson plans!
